Buttoned Caftan front pocket and fringed collar and embroidery with fringed detailing at sleeve ends.
Made in Brown Checks, consisting of naturally dyed Kala cotton yarn. Kala cotton is an indigenous, organic, rain-fed fibre that was India’s primary cotton until the 18th century.
The fabric is hand-spun and hand-woven into cloth in India by remote artisans - small farmers, spinners, ginners and weavers - working within larger craft networks across the Indian state of Gujarat. Guided by Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy of “Swaraj,” or self-government, they work collectively towards sustaining rural livelihoods and preserving indigenous raw materials and craft traditions.
