White and Celadon Polychrome Teapot

Translucent-glazed porcelain teapot, decorated with an abstract porcelain blue and chocolate brown animal-like stencilled pattern. Featuring a footed base, side handle, and lid with finial.

Linda Sikora’s porcelain teapots are salt fired, an ancient Northern European firing process technique where salt is added to the kiln, resulting in a glossy and translucent bare surface of the clay. She has recently made a conscious move towards exploring the round form - a deceptively difficult shape to form, and pushing it to the edge of its capacity, resulting in particularly plump, rounded teapots that are gentle to hold.
